To prove their compliance with local and international food safety and legality requirements, produce suppliers have to demonstrate that they are following responsible crop protection practices.
To assist suppliers, ABSi publishes the latest chemical residue requirements (Maximum Residue Level or MRL lists) and provides access to registered suppliers’ records of chemical applications and residue analyses.
Up-to-date information is available on local and international legal and commercial requirements for maximum chemical residue levels (MRLs) permitted on a variety of product types. The pre-harvest intervals (safety periods) and good agricultural practices that have to be applied to ensure compliance are also indicated.
Standardised MRL lists are published per crop type. Alternatively, users that have access to the ABSi MRL reporting tools can obtain customised lists of residue levels and associated information. Registered users can access the MRL information by clicking on the topic Maximum Residue Levels in the list on the right-hand page of the ABSi notebook above.
ABSi provides access to crop protection application records that have been captured electronically with ABSi-recognised software as well as residue analysis results obtained from acknowledged analytical laboratories. Registered users can access the required records by clicking on the relevant topic – Crop Protection Records or Residue Analysis Records – in the list on the right-hand page of the ABSi notebook above.
